Lets have more people get out of the mainstream

We are expected to do several things in life. We are expected to go to school and get good grades. Then we are expected to go on to college and graduate with honors. We also need to get a job with a good salary then get married and have kids. What happens if we don't do those things?

Some people feel that if you don't do even one of these things that your life is ruined. They feel that if you don't go to college you will be working at a dead end job for the rest of your life. If you don't have a child then your life is going to be pointless. If you don't work at a place that pays you a nice salary of $40K a year then your screwed as well. If you tell people like this that you work on commission they will look at you like you have 3 heads. Since its not guaranteed pay your not good enough to even speak to them.

I couldn't disagree with this stuff more. So what if you don't go to college? I went to community college for 2 years and I got a certificate in computer applications. I fell short of a few credits for my associates degree. Does that make me a low life piece of shit? I am sure some people would agree. Especially since I went to community college which has some of the most inspirational teachers.

It is people like myself and other entrepreneurs that make the world a better place. So what if we are not being paid a guaranteed salary. People like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are the ones that have made this world more innovated. Did they get a salary when they started out? Absolutely NOT! They probably worked 100+ hours a week at first and didn't make much of anything. Just like when we start a new business venture.

One of my favorite quotes from Steve Jobs is....

“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Every time I read this I get chills. This just proves that people like us are the ones who create the world we live in today. I am not the type of person to go to a 9-5 job and put up with the micromanaging assholes who run the company. I will not stay with a company just because I am making a good salary. We only get one life so lets make it count. We need to take risks.

AT HOME JOBS: Pay Per Task Point of View

Anyone who is looking to find a work at home opportunity has most likely come upon several pay per task assignments. Explaining pay per task is simple, you get paid per task! Usually pay per task assignments pay anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars depending on the company and the difficulty and the time it takes. I hear a lot of complaints about work at home companies not paying enough but here's the thing AT LEAST THEY PAY.

A lot of work at home jobs are independent contractor based. This means that the minimum wage and overtime laws do not apply. If you think about it you are working from home. The companies cannot keep track of you. If you are an independent contractor you work your own hours. Most of the time you can do other stuff to make money at the same time. For example, I have my laptop hooked up to a dual monitor so I as I am writing this blog I am also doing Humanatic and Rate My Video. I am also surfing on EasyHits4U traffic exchange. This helps bring traffic to my websites.

This is the thing with pay per task. At least you are getting paid for what you do. Commission based work at home opportunities you can work all day or week and not make a dime. I have done plenty of commission based opportunities and did not make a dime on some of them. If I am doing Humanatic I know that for every call I review I am getting paid. When I am watching videos on Rate My Video I know that I am getting paid per video I watch. When I work on MTurk I know that I am getting paid for every task that I do. See, at least you have a guarantee.

Now I want to make it very clear that I am not putting down commission based jobs. You can make great money with commission based opportunities. You need to actually WORK though to succeed at it. I have seen many people who want to work from home come and go when they work for a few hours and don't get a sale. Commission based jobs are clearly not for everyone.

So my advice for anyone who needs to make some quick cash from home to sign up for pay per task positions. You can visit MTurk, Humanatic, Rate My Video, and MadMoneyGPT just to name a few.

Project Payday Review

Over the past year and a half I have been asked on several occasions what my opinion is on Project Payday. Some people also recommended that I list them. Well I finally gave in and I signed up for Project Payday and completed an offer so I could check it out. After weighing out the pros and con's of this company I have decided to not list this on my site for several reasons. I am not calling it a scam but I am going to call it very gimmicky.

Project Payday is a website that is based on making extra money with offers and referrals. It is free to sign up but in order for it to be free you need to complete an offer. If you do not complete an offer it costs $35 for a lifetime membership. Many of the company offers on there are legit. However, many of them are not free. I signed up for Gamefly as an offer because I have heard about them and intended on checking them out anyways it was $5.95 for the first 30 days.

Lets talk about a free offer that you can sign up for FreeCreditReport.com. They give you a free 7 day trial but you need to enter your credit card information. In order for you to cancel you need to call in. Myself as well as a couple of friends and my mother have done this in the past. You need to literally yell at the customer service rep in order to get them to cancel. Make sure you do this before you trial runs out or they will charge you real fast. This offer in my opinion is NOT worth it.

Right after I completed the Gamefly sign up I was then pitched all these other offers. I was told that I should do another one to get more advantages but I didn't. Once I was in the Project Payday system I learned that Project Payday itself is just the referral program. The pay that you get for the offers comes from other companies. Even though Project Payday markets as you never need to refer others it certainly sounds like you do to make any sort of income. Either that or you need to give all these companies your credit card information and spend hours on the phone trying to cancel these memberships you are now apart of.

So you  may be asking what is the gimmick? That's simple, advertising that you can get started for free. In order for you to get started for free you need to provide a credit card  number to some place that will make it next to impossible for you to cancel. I do not call that free.

If you have had success with Project Payday I am more then happy for you. If you have not and are asking my opinion of it I would say to go for another opportunity. One that doesn't require you to sign up for all these services to make money.
